1. Black Earth – Impact Storytelling

An award-winning platform for Earth care storytelling, built from my bedroom.

I founded and lead Black Earth, an impact storytelling platform celebrating Earth and black women environmental leaders. Over 3 years, we have created  37 episodes, and received over 30,000 downloads from listeners in more than 140 countries.

In 2025, I led the shift into an impact production model which allows us to work closely with our guests and social impact organisations to build public engagement on social issues. Since then, we have created two citizen science resources, hosted a social media community fundraiser, and a book partnership give-away with Faber Books. 

I've secured and managed over £50,000 in institutional funding and in-kind partnerships.  Black Earth won the 2023 British Podcast Award (Silver, Best New Podcast) and has been featured by a variety of platforms including Spotify US, the Guardian, Oxford University amongst others.

2. UNHCR Innovation Service - Impact Storytelling

Using speculative fiction to help an organisation explore the futures of the humanitarian sector.

I was commissioned to research and write three articles exploring the futures of climate change and humanitarian action. The articles were used in UNHCR's internal strategic planning dialogues and also included in the undergraduate curriculum at Parsons School of Design, New York.

3. Oak Foundation -  Strategic Research & Narrative

Fourteen years of organisational history, made legible.

Oak Foundation needed the first comprehensive narrative charting the evolution of their civil society capacity-building programme (OSE) spanning fourteen years of history. I synthesised over 50 documents and conducted 12 original interviews to write a strategic narrative built around a living-systems framing, drawing out the lessons and recommendations embedded in Oak's own journey. The document is now Oak's internal and external reference point, and has informed further external communications work, including an article published in Alliance Magazine.

4. World Council of Credit Unions - Investment & Product Design

Testing an untapped market, in two weeks.

The World Council of Credit Unions wanted to understand whether there was real appetite among the African diaspora for a climate-resilience investment product built on remittance flows - an entirely untested market, with a three-week research window.

I designed and ran action research through strategic outreach to Kenyan UK diaspora networks, conducting 15 interviews and focus groups. I then coded and synthesised the findings into a 10-page report on themes, trends, and recommendations giving WCCU a clear, evidence-based read on a market no one had mapped before.

5. WWF -  Investment & Programme Design

Building and stewarding a global learning and innovation network.

WWF hired me to build and lead a global community of practice mainstreaming nature conservation into the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

In three years, I grew it to over 200 members across 55 countries, developed its learning agenda and thought-leadership strategy, and ran over 50 webinars and knowledge products for policy and civil society audiences. 

I led the writing and coordination of three flagship reports (Nature in All Goals), managing contributions from 32 national offices. I designed and co-managed a £150,000 grant across five national offices through a design-thinking innovation process that produced five piloted innovations. In 2021, the network was recognised by the UN as good practice on SDG implementation.

I am regularly commissioned to bring judgement to awards decisions - as juror for the Unearthodox Edges of Possibility Innovation Lab (2026), judging panel for the School of International Futures' Next Gen Foresight Practitioners Fellowship (2026), judge for the Wainwright Prize for Nature Conservation Writing (2025), and expert reviewer for Impact on Urban Health's £440,000 Climate, Community and Health Fund (2023). This work opens new relationships with institutions across the sector and helps me to support innovators advancing solutions for environmental justice. 

I am also a regular panellist and facilitator and have spoken on ecological justice, storytelling, and innovation in Earth care at over 40 events worldwide.
